T/c tells the Brits

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Fri May 06, 2011 2:16 pm

Sotos,

As you know many TCs were abandoning their houses and villages in the 60s seeking more protection in the enclaves. However MANY from every village wouldn't move. They just didn't like to go elsewhere.
Who do you think finalized the job?

I will tell you who: Some GC thieves and roberers. They were scaring those people ON PURPOSE.
Within one week after they were leaving there were no windows, no doors no furniture to their houses.

Be very careful who you call a thief, especially when addressing forum members who have a proven credibility.

Well said, obviously Sotos has not read Martin Packards book "Getting it Wrong" Blame is difficult to quantify but both sides must accept a share in it otherwise there will never be a solution.

That sort af attitude is nothing more then pushing TCs more towards Turkey!

While the alternative is what? The TCs as equal neighbors prospering on the lands stolen from us? To me there is no difference between TCs and Turkey unless the TCs are willing to give back to us our lands. I don't seem them willing to do this so to me they are no different than Turkey. They both want to occupy what is stolen from us.

So,only WE stole from you!and all the land in the southern part of island is YOURS!!

Only a solution would solve that problem....in the meantime you and I and the likes must carry on fighting for it.Stop spreading more venums, there is already enough of it.Re-unification will not come with that attitude!

We didn't steal anything from you. Give us back our lands in the north and come and take yours in the south. No problem with me! I never took any TC land and I don't want any. And the refugees who now live in TC land because they have no choice would rather have their own land back!

I didn't call yorgozlu a thief. I was just telling him that if TCs don't let us prosper on our lands in the north then we will not let them either. If they want to prosper there is only one way: Give us back our land :!:

fair enough... but uk cypriots (and their descendants - like me) who left the island before all the skata hit the aeristira are entirely blameless and should not accept any share in it. nor do they (i). so suck on that, peasants.

What you stole from us were our rights granted to us as a community under the 1960 agreements.

As much as you may deride such agreements as unfair and imposed, despite them having been agreed, the fact remains that we (TC as a community in Cyprus) had something (rights under the 60's agreements) and that these were removed from us in the period 63-65 without any recongised due process in national or international law. That is they were taken from us, aginst our will and without proper legal due process. That is a fair defnintion of stolen I would suggest.

I am not pointing this out to try and score points, but something we had was taken from us as a comunity and denial of that reality does nothing to help us sort out the mess we are in today in my view.

It is not called sealing if you are taking away unfair and imposed rights granted by foreigners to a few on the expense of the many! That is the same like when a revolution happens and the people bring democracy and take away the unfair rights of a few. And if anything was not imposed and was not unfair and was taken from you then I am sorry about this and you should have it back! That is how we correct mistakes and improve isn't it?
