Not a very good picture, but this is on my verandah last July.

Perhaps I need to change the flower pots!

This is my little (experimental) cactus patch with 30 odd species...

Image

Earlier today this is what one of my cactuses looked like…

Image

And by midnight this is what I found…

Image

The aroma was out of this world!

Image

Image

I have another that’s about to bloom any day now…

Image

And then they tell me there is no God!

That’s it from GR’s cactus patch for now…

PS: Ignore the date on the pics and don't forget to click on them!

Make sure you dont have cats and that they do not sleep in your underwear drawer.

I too was once a connos......connoseor.....a fan of succulents and cacti.

Very nice GR. What about a few artichokes around the perimeter. I love the purple flowers of the ones that do not get eaten.

What do you do with the 'little pricks'?

Piss (but don't shit!) on the cacti once a week. I've heard it's the best fertiliser.

Is this a result of scientific research? :?

No, he was a bit drunk one night and couldn't get the key in the door, so he had to piss in his garden. The next day he noticed the cacti were doing well!

It's good for grass too. Scientifically proven in my garden, where the dog pees the grass is longer provided the ground is wet/damp. When the ground is very dry the pee is too concentrated and it kills the grass.

Update... :D

NB: In Cyprus, cactuses should be watered every 20-25 days. In their natural dry environments (even in places like Arizona) they DO get watered from precipitation and similar natural climatic events.

PS: Cactuses that get very little or no water can survive but never flower.

CBBB, your cactus is BEGGING to be replanted somewhere in the garden where there's more room for it! :(

Please do something or I’ll report a cactus abuse case!
