In May 2011, the Home for Cooperation, a groundbreaking initiative of the AHDR, will be opening its doors to the public, bringing a fresh and invigorating air to what has long been known as the ‘dead zone’. We would be honored if you could join us to be part of this historic transformation, celebrated via a series of festivities from 6 - 9 May.
As part of the inauguration festivities, the AHDR cordially invite you to a Symposium entitled “Human and Societal Development: The role of social relationships” that will take place on Monday the 9th of May 2011, 09:00-15:00, at the Home for Co-operation.
Distinguished academics, social developmental psychologists from Berlin, Neuchâtel, Stirling and Essex will discuss the way democratic education can be grounded in social developmental psychology. Political scientists from Cyprus will coordinate two panels to facilitate a discussion that will explore the ramifications of such grounding for politics and educational policy in Cyprus.
The language of the conference will be in English but simultaneous translations will be offered in Turkish and Greek.
We hope you will be able to join us in this exciting interdisciplinary dialogue.
Please pre-register at [email protected] since the places are limited.
