Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan's parliament threatened Saturday to cut off access to a facility used by NATO forces to ferry troops into Afghanistan, signaling a growing rift that began when U.S. commandos killed Osama bin Laden during a raid on a Pakistani compound.
A resolution adopted during a joint session of parliament condemned the U.S. action. It also called for a review of its working agreement with the U.S., demanded an independent investigation and ordered the immediate end of drone attacks along its border region.
Failure to end unilateral U.S. raids and drone attacks will force Pakistan to "to consider taking necessary steps, including withdrawal of (the) transit facility" used by the NATO's International Security Assistance Force, according to the resolution.
U.S. lawmakers have questioned how the world's most wanted terrorist managed to live in plain sight for years in Pakistan -- near the country's elite military academy -- without being detected.
Rift with Pakistan over commando raid appears to deepen
Its Parliament demands halt to drone strikes
New York Times / May 15, 2011
WASHINGTON — The United States and Pakistan are veering toward a deepening clash, with Pakistan’s Parliament demanding a permanent halt to all drone strikes just as the most senior US envoy since the killing of Osama bin Laden is to arrive with a stern message that the country has only months to show it is truly committed to rooting out the remnants of Al Qaeda and associated groups. The United States has increased drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas in the past 10 days in an effort to exploit the uncertainty and disarray among militant ranks following bin Laden’s death on May 2.

Did the Pakistanis higher ups know that Bin Laden was in Pakistan.?
I believe the answer is a YES and a NO. Some knew and others did not know. Those who did not know were more than likely to be the politicians. Those who knew were more than likely to be the Pakistani military/secret service, who have been receiving Billions of US Dollars from the US since 2003, for so called helping the US to have their "war on terror". Granted, Pakistani military have lost a lot of their personal as well as the Pakistani citizens in the last 8 years to the Taliban and the Al Qaeda. I would call those Pakistani military members who got killed as being "sacrificed" by the same institution that they belonged to, the military. In order to justify receiving all that money from the USA, they had to show their involvement in the "war against terror", which meant losing service members at the same time. I wouldn't even be surprised if the military did not set these soldiers up to die, by making them walk into Taliban and Al Qaeda's traps on purpose. You can't make an omelette without breaking few eggs first.
Same reason to keep Bin Laden alive as long as possible, because as long as Bin Laden was alive and "on the run", the Pakistani military continued to cash in their "blood money" from the USA. How convenient to have Bin Laden be living in his compound with 3 wives and children for years just down the road from a military garrison. Who would have dared to come and get Bin Laden so close to the military garrison, so the military thought. Well, the answer to that question were the 25 brave US Navy Seals, that's who. Now that the game is up, the Pakistani military is talking big about should the USA dare to launch another attack on their territory to get the rest of the 9/11 criminals hiding in Pakistan. Yeah right, please don't make me laugh, and how will these corrupt military losers are going to stop the USA from coming in at will to get the next bad guys. The Pakistani military will only know once the operation has been completed, just like when the US got Bin Laden.
Lets face it, Pakistan is a very corrupt place and will do anything for money. It is no wonder they have a city named after what Pakistan is all about. I believe the city is very appropriated called, "Lahore" !
