Dear friends,

People supporting peace in Cyprus created a new independent N.G.O.
called C.O.R.E. (the Committee for Organizing Rapprochement Events).
Please take a moment to read about what we are about.

RAPPROCHEMENT EVENT-AIM
Several events take place annually. People get together; people from both communities. These events are trying to show that both communities of
Cyprus want a united Cyprus. However, is the attendance high? The answer
is unfortunately no. Not many people are willing to get involved in such
events.
Even so, what if there was a large festival? Music, food, games and more!
What if something really amazing was to take place? What if the youth
especially, was targeted to get influenced positively by this whole thing?
In that case, that would definitely bring some change here in Cyprus. This
is why we want to set up a huge, a brilliant event in the buffer zone.
Bringing people from both communities and of all generations together.

The main aim of this event is to prove that people from both communities
are able to cooperate and set up something incredible. We promote
friendship, peace and the use of non-violence. Thus, this idea came up. If
we were to set up a festival which will raise awareness over our issue
with our separation, then something positive could come out of this. We
actually do have a permission from the United Nations to set up the event.

Most probably, the event will take place during late August-early
September. Even so, a lot of planning needs to be done from now so that we
have a successful event later on. We will dedicate to this, so that we
entertain and inform people that we do not want to be separated.
Also, this cause has no politics involved and it is non-profit.

Hello everyone,

We should arrange a day from early morning till night, so that Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots can come and have fun. I received a letter from the UN, saying that they can let us use the small stadium in the Green Line next to Ledra palace. I am thinking of having a lot of activities untill about 7 o'clock at night. Then a concert can take place there, from both Turkish-Cypriots and Greek-Cypriots. A possible day can be in September. You may think is to early, but in order to arrange all these we will need a lot of time.
Also, I want to mention that I am a member of a youth political party, but it will be great if we let politics out of this event, only Greekcypriots and Turkishcypriots should prove that they can LIVE TOGETHER IN HARMONY AND PEACE.

Nα οργανώσουμε μια μέρα που από νωρίς το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ, Ελληνοκύπριοι και Τουρκοκύπριοι, Τουρκοκύπριοι και Ελληνοκύπριοι μπορούν να έρθουν και να διασκεδάσουν. Πήρα ένα γράμμα από του ΟΗΕ, ώστε να μπορούν ας χρησιμοποιήσουμε το μικρό γήπεδο στην πράσινη γραμμή δίπλα στο Λήδρα Πάλας. Σκέφτομαι να έχουν πολλές δραστηριότητες μέχρι τις 7 περίπου το βράδυ. Στη συνέχεια, μια συναυλία μπορεί να πραγματοποιηθεί εκεί, και από τις δύο Τουρκοκύπριοι και Ελληνοκύπριοι. Μια πιθανή ημέρα μπορεί να είναι το Σεπτέμβριο. Μπορείτε να σκεφτείτε ότι είναι πολύ νωρίς, αλλά για να οργανώσει όλα αυτά θα χρειαστεί πολύ χρόνο.
Επίσης, θέλω να αναφέρω ότι είμαι μέλος ενός πολιτικού κόμματος για τη νεολαία, αλλά θα είναι μεγάλη, αν αφήσουμε την πολιτική έξω από αυτό το γεγονός, μόνο Ελληνοκύπριοι και Τουρκοκύπριοι να αποδείξουν ότι μπορούν να ζήσουν μαζί σε αρμονία και γαλήνη.
Περιμένω τις προτάσεις και τις σκέψεις σας.

KııbrıslıTürklerin ve KıbrıslıRumların bir araya gelip, birlikte cok egenebilecegi bir gün düzenleyelim! UN'den, Ledra Palace'ın yanında olan Yeşil Hat'da küçük bir stadyum kullanabilecegimizi söyleyen bir mektup aldım. Sabahtan gece saat 19.00 a kadar bir cok aktivite yapıp sonra da cok güzel bir konser eşliginde eglenebiliriz! Uygun bir gün Eylül de olabilir. Cok erken oldugunu düşünebilirsiniz haklı olarak ama bütün bunları ayarlamak cok zaman alacak!
Ayrıca, ben bir gençlik siyasi partisine üye olduğumu belirtmek isterim ancak bu günün politikadan uzak bir gün olması daha iyi olur.. Amacımız sadece KıbrıslıTürkler ve KıbrıslıRumlar olarak BARIŞ VE UYUM içinde yaşayabildigimizi kanıtlayabilmek!

Halil you just don't get it do you? You won't solve anything for as long as troops, settlers and deny right to return of refugees. No matter how many songs and dances you make.

Do you seriously think you will solve this problam with these stupid events. We have them every day, they are called TC workers who come to the south in the thousands for work and shopping.

Why some of you have to show such negativity all the time for everything such events are good for everyone especially those who never meet the ''other side'' its obvious that if we dont try together as cypriots nothing will ever changed if we dont shout together ayse go home ayse aint going anywhere .We can solve cyprob only together and we have to find a start point .Refusing or be negative on everything all the time it wont take as anywhere.......
