There is only one conspiracy theory I subscribe to: Jesus was Cypriot! He was still with his parents at 33. He followed the work of his father. His mother thought he was God.

There is absolutely no reliable information as to what height the aircraft was above the ground.

Even the information from the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) can be very unreliable as Altitude Information might have been recorded from Altimetry with incorrect Pressure QFE/QNH settings. Above 10000FT Altimetry will measure Pressure Altitude as a QFE of 1013Hpa is set. Therefore Pressure Altitude is measured with reference to the 1013Hpa datum and not from Mean Sea Level (MSL). Below 10000FT, pilots must change from QFE to QNH. They do this by setting the Mean Sea Level pressure which means the Sea Level becomes the datum. Therefore, the FDR will record correct Altitude above Mean Sea Level. I doubt the hijackers would have done this. They were flying on QFE and the FDR would have recorded Pressure Altitude. With QFE set, the altimeter can even show below MSL. The Radar Altimeter and Ground Proximity Warning Systems might have been turned off. I believe the hijackers had sufficient traing to do this as well as manipulate the Auto Pilot.

This is all very complicated stuff for a novice. I am willing to assist, but much of the information will go beyond most forumers.

Now, I am not an expert of FDR other than what it does and it being a Check Item along with the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR).
