South Cyprus heading for Greek financial Crisis

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby repulsewarrior » Tue Apr 26, 2011 11:27 pm

...i suspect that President Christofias knows a great deal about the works of Marx and Engels; his mistake was thinking that Russians, then and today, have any interest in this idealism.

...your brown-nosing some god anti-cyprus with dreams of our pettiness, and the Russian's greatness, because there are many circles where a Cypriot delegation is well received (or is Merkel pan fish?). for a little country, this island has done very well since freed from three hundred years of isolation, and Turkish subjugation, although recently since '74, we discover that this State (Turkey) still clings to a bitterness they found in the Treaty of Lausanne. we forget that with all this, in 1960 we were the most socialised and cooperative people in the world, and what is not under a foreign military occupation thrives, still.

You people are in total denial of the truth, your banking sector has invested heavily inGreek bonds which are worthless and you try to make excuses and account for a risk which has slapped you in the face but you choose to ignore.

Source, please. Your unsupported premise has been debunked. Prove otherwise or crawl back into your hole.

THERE WAS muted response yesterday to news that ratings agency Moody’s has put Cyprus on notice for a possible downgrade due to the banking sector's exposure to Greece.

CYPRIOT stocks took a major tumble yesterday, led by plummeting bank shares, a day after Moody’s cut Greece's credit rating by three notches.

Proves my point.

It’s a bloody good time to cut off all allowances of those sponging off the system such as non tax-paying TCs, wouldn’t you say?

What “international consequences” when you're going under?

Luxuries would have to be sacrificed, or did you assume that the RoC would let GCs starve while your non tax-paying people get benefits?

If its a blanket application then sure but if just aimed at TCs you would be in the shit, you claim to represent all Cypriots whether they live in the north or south.

Like I said, if the RoC was going under (and she’s not) it would also have severe repercussions for your people so be careful what you wish for!
