How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes banaiotoglu, they were telling us the same disaster stories if we didn't accept the AP as well.

Well guess what???

Re-structuring we desperately do need to tackle. Civil service and high (for Cyprus ) unemployment are critical and can be dealt with in a few simple yet brave measures that only a party like Akel would be able to. They're the only ones that can have this conversation with the unions. Do they have the balls to tackle this right now, I doubt it. It won't kill the economy but it will stop us from progressing any further when the govt keeps cutting a cheque that high for it's workforce. They should start with the teachers (take cover).

As far as exposure to Greece goes, it's minimal and can be absorbed simply with the margins the 2 large banks are making during 2 quarters.

Well, the longer we delay tackling these issues, the tougher will be the measures needed to rectify the situation. The measures do constitute simple economics but our populist politicians will not take them and thus we worry a great deal. Paphitis is in Australia, he has nothing to worry about this matter and Piratis is busy fighting for the liberation of Cyprus.

I have financial interests in Cyprus and have an opinion.

If you ask me, the only restructuring required is a cull of the public sector and public sector spending cuts.

Will you be happy to swallow these bitter polls, or will you take to the streets?

As to matters of banking... a reminder to all that the Good People of the Free Areas of the Republic had the remarkable resolve to bounce back from the devastation of the Barbaric Turkish Invasion within a very small number of years.

So you see Mr T any exposure to dodgy greek debt is small beer by comparison, so carry on dreaming if you Scallywags are trying to talk up (and live in hope of) a collapse of the Republic's banking system.
