Zivania & Tonic

(hic)...

Being a bit of an experimenter and as well as a sort of Englishman who, by accident of conception, is cursed with troublesome and argumentative CY genes... have just invented a new fusion of the cultures...

Zivania and Tonic (with a slice of lemon) ... really is quite drinkable.

aarrgghhh Free Kyrenia ;) I gotta say I got spooked out in Kyrenia in 2007. Was the strangest feeling of like being in a military camp.

Having said that going up th Pendathaktilos and around the back again and seeing the beauty is an experience I'll never forget.

Perhaps next time I'll organise a bike ride from one end of the green line right through to Apostolos Andreas

...i visited in '80 and '81, never went to my village, and everywhere i went there was with an escort, only from sun-up to sun-down, then like now i suppose you'll find Cypriots (and even under these circumstances) who see themselves as Cypriots first. i remembered Kyrenia as it was, ten years before, but now without people; enough time for the waiter to go back and forth, one at a time: the napkin, the water, the coffee...

i hope some day i'll feel a reason to visit again, for now i encourage anyone who is open to dialog and who exchanges with other Cypriots to visit, although for some like me the fear of the authorities still haunts me,
but...

...biiiillll! i'd go to Kyrenia with you anytime.
