Billy willy boy we will not stop chasing your tail... TA is in Cyprus since 74.... according to AP they were all gone ....GC's were chasing our tail since 63. None of u cared about their losses before 74....where were u ?

I personally, for many times put forward my opinions and "proposals" on this forum; regarding a "fair" solution that could unite us... but most of the GCs insist on what they have been struggling for many decades...

A unitary state(preferably) or a federation based on consociational democracy that would ensure the rights and freedoms of all citizens and inhabitants of Cyprus is not acceptable for most of the GCs...

Still neither side attempted to propose the establishment of an official bi-communal board for at least paveing a way for displaced persons to claim restitution and/or exchange and/or compensation of their properties that would give us a crystal clear idea about what percent of displaced Cypriots claim what...

By knowing the claims of claimants; the relevant officials of the relevant board could work more realistically on the solution of this aspect of the problem... Other aspects of the Cyprus problem could also have be solved by the same method....

... but the incompetent, self-interested, illiterate parrots of Cyprus; including the so-called intelligentsia(most of the times BillC too is among them) keep repeating the decades old rhetorics that is far from the intention and potential to lead anyone to find a common ground as a way forward...

in 1974 (37 years ago) the majority of cypriots now free from turkey's clutches were either just kids or not yet born.

and in 1963 (48 years ago) the vast majority were either just kids or not yet born.

so go sing for peace.... but don't forget when ur singing that most people living in the free areas weren't around when the peace was broken, and even less have any responsibility whatsoever for why it was broken.

Oh and whilst am at it Halil, this is what Pres X had to say about "the hand of friendship" a few days ago...

No they weren't pea brain. The TA remained under the Annan plan. In reduced numbers but they remained on Cypriot soil. This is unacceptable.

The Presidential Spokesman Osman Ertuğ has evaluated the recent statements made by the Greek Cypriot leader’s spokesman Stefanos Stefanu.


Ertuğ said that any agreement that ignored the realities that there are two separate political entities, two democracies and two separate states in Cyprus could not be long-lasting or viable.

In a statement issued today, the Presidential Spokesman responded to the latest statements by the Greek Cypriot spokesman Stefanos Stefanu that the new bi-communal, bi-zonal federation to emerge in the event of a settlement would be born out of the unitary state of the so-called Republic of Cyprus.

Ertuğ said that such an approach clearly demonstrated the state of misconception the Greek Cypriot was concerning the kind of settlement aimed in Cyprus.

Pointing out that it was crystal clear that a new partnership state to be created in Cyprus would not be a continuation of the so-called Cyprus Republic; he said that no one would be able to persuade the Turks of Cyprus to accept such a solution.

“The 1960 Cyprus Partnership Republic, founded by both sides and which only managed to survive for three years because of the Greek Cypriots’ goal to unite the island with Greece was not a unitary state but a functional federation” he said.

Ertuğ also reminded that the issue of how the new partnership would be founded or what its starting point had not be discussed in detail in the ongoing negotiations.
