THE CYPRUS TURKISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SENTS LETTERS TO ALL ITS FOREIGN COLLOCUTORS ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE 24 APRIL REFERENDUM

The Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce has sent letters to all its foreign collocutors on the anniversary of the 24th of April 2004 referendum reminding the promises given to the Turkish Cypriots and the official decisions taken after the referendum. According to the information provided by the Chamber, the letter which includes expressions such as, “we are still waiting for the fulfillment of the promises made to us 7 years ago” stressed that the ongoing isolations on the Turkish Cypriots are continuing despite of the passing of 7 years since the 24 April 2004 referendum.

The letter which includes statements made particularly by officials from the United Nations and the European Union as well as the international community on the results of the referendum, refers to statements calling for the lifting of the international isolations of the Turkish Cypriots.

References to statements made by the Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, his Special Representative Alvaro de Soto, former EU Commissioner for Enlargement Günter Verheugen and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair are included in the letter.

Meanwhile Turkish Cypriots will be at Inonu Square tomorrow afternoon at seven o'clock to remind the world once more............. I will be there with all my family and friends.........................

halil, remind the world exactly what that a minority of one country back in 1974 invited Turkey (a nation of 70 million people) to invade a small neighbouring Country and as such violate the human Rights of 200,000 people whose only crime is that they have a different language and religious beliefs.

Give me a break dude.

Furthermore the AP referendum was just that a plan put forth for all Cypriots to agree upon. It was an unfair plan for the majority and we voted NO. It has gone to courts and the decision to allow trade with the occupied area and the EU i deemed not appropriate legal action. Now it is your job and ur job to re-think that occasion. If you want unification then put forth appropriate measures that the GC's will agree too.

For example no Turkish or Greek guarantors. Cypriots making decisions for Cypriots, right of return, negotiation on land mass of each State. Concessions settlers and who returns and who stays. In my opinion the number that stay should be less than the TC population otherwise you have acheived nothing.

3 years and no result...this could on for another 20 and still there would be nothing. Only way a plan can be produced is according to a time table otherwise its more of the same...which is no solution.

There has to be a solution before all TCs are gone from Cyprus.Unles thats the plan.

Perhaps,I should re-phrase my comments above to

There has to be a solution before all TCs are gone from northern part of Cyprus.Unles thats the plan.

Are you aware of the population growth in the north? whats your point, all this the TCs are disappearing propaganda is pure scaremongering.

sure I am.Having alot of difficulty to find Cypriot amongs them though.

After 37 years of division and the a fast population growth we will all become new generation Turkish Cypriots, so however hard you look thats what youll find.

For 'fast population growth' you should add 'artificial'. What do you take TC's for.Easter bunny's? How you ignore the settlers is beyond me.

THERE IS ONE VP NOW STOP WITH THE BULLSHIT AND ASNSWER THE F******* QUESTION.

so are you easter bunnys?

the reason VP Ignores the settlers is because he or she or both are one of the some.

No, I think its more to do with an idealistic dream of a pan Anatolian 'superpower'.
mama Anatolia at the helm uniting all the T***ophone countries into one glorious empire.
The agitation is more with the TC's refusal to conform and be good 'T***s'
