I don't have Turkish roots so how can I hate it.? I have Cypriot roots. I'm a Cypriot and a Turkish Cypriot, so how can I believe to be a Greek Cypriot also. I also don't claim to be a Turk as well, just because one time in history my ancestors were from Turkey. You on the other hand do not claim to be a Cypriot at all, despite last 450 years of your ancestors being from Cyprus. You very loosely hold onto being a Turkish Cypriot but act like a Turk and push for Turkish cause every time and not for Turkish Cypriots. You made this very clearly when you said "Gelen Türk, Giden Türk" ( Turk leaves, Turk arrives). Nothing about you being a Cypriot or even being a Turkish Cypriot. Just Turk. Even the Turks do not go by their ancestors roots, or else they will label themselves to be Mongolians using your example, so if the Turks are happy to be called Turks and not Mongolians, just because they have settled where they are in Turkey for centuries, why cant Turkish Cypriots do the same and be Cypriots since they too have settled in Cyprus for centuries.? You can be a Turk if you want, but cannot be a Turkish Cypriot also, unless you also hold a Turkish Citizenship in Turkey. So which is it.?

How can you be a Turkish Cypriot when you deny your Turkish roots? are you more Turkish Cypriot than than those born here 35 years ago? and those born from the now 35 year old TCs children?

You seem to a very confused individual it must have something to do with your being a bloody foreigner living in someone else's country and that fact that your views are purely GCs views, if you think like them why do you not become of them? you sound like its in insult when I label you a GC why is that?

I am became very comfortable about who I am when I move to the TRNC and started to live amongst my own people not matter their ethnic origin, I dont have the chip on my shoulder you appear to have about Turks or Mongolians which you band around like its some sort of disease, you are the one in denial not me..I am proud of all of my ethnic origins however far back they go.

I am a Turkish Cypriot and very proud of it....I have no problem with new generation TCs born and raised here in the TRNC, you can demonize them all you wish but you have not been to the TRNC therefore haven't got a clue about the developments in the north, all your information is second hand and will always be as you can never visit the TRNC.

Why would Kikapu want to visit all you karasakals?

If I remember correctly he dşid say in another post that he has family members living in Turkey and he visits there! :D
And Bugs Bunny's famous last words: "Geee! What's up Doc?"

That is correct in what you say, BigOz, which will destroy VP's claims that I'm a "Turk Hater". Just because I don't like Turkey's foreign policy in occupying my country of Cyprus for her own strategic interests and also not agreeing with the NeoPartitionists in the north to partition the island, does not mean I blame ALL the Turks in Turkey in what their government does in Cyprus, just as I don't blame ALL the TCs in the north in what the NeoPartitionist want to do in wanting to divide the island.

years passed from the referendum...........still judgment of it goes on from all frontiers...........

EROĞLU-REFERENDUM RALLY . :!:

TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu has said that the Turkish Cypriots needed to think carefully about the reasons behind the organization of last night’s rally on the 7th anniversary of the 2004 Referendum by the main opposition Republican Turkish Party and Social Democratic Party. Eroğlu said that the rejection of the Annan Plan by the majority of Greek Cypriots allowed the Turkish Cypriots to understand the realities and true intentions of the Greek Cypriot Side.

Commenting on the issue during a visit paid to him yesterday, President Derviş Eroğlu said that the UN-sponsored Annan Plan had been discussed thoroughly over the past 7 years.

“The Greek Cypriot Side, which said “no” to the Annan Plan, is still accusing the Turkish Cypriots not wanting a settlement and holding Turkey responsible for the non-solution of the Cyprus Problem. It is long time they abandon such views” he added.
The TRNC President also pointed out that there is a need for the international community to acknowledge the injustices committed against the Turkish Cypriots.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Republican Turkish party Ferdi Sabit Soyer criticized President Dervis Eroğlu for his comments concerning the rally.

He said that the CTP will continue to work towards achieving a settlement in Cyprus.

I'm a Cypriot who speaks the Turkish language. It does not mean that I have to hold onto Turkey as my roots, even if it was. If I wanted to go beyond 450 years of being in Cyprus to search for my so called other roots, why not go all the way to Mongolia.? Just because we speak Turkish, it does not makes us Turks. What makes you think you are a pure descendants from Ottoman/Mongolian Turks and even if you are, so what.? The Turks do not think TCs are the same as them so why would want to think I'm same as the Turks. What makes you think you do not have other ethnic genes in your bloodline in the last 450 years.? We are Cypriots who speak a different language than other Cypriots as well as having a different religion, that's all. Bottom line is, we are Cypriots who happens to be speaking Turkish which is somewhat same to Turkish spoken in Turkey. In Switzerland French, Italian and German are also spoken as their national language, but it does not make them to be Germans, French or Italians just because those are the national languages of France, Germany and Italy.

If we were to use your examples that the TCs are Turks and that their roots then go back to Turkey, then what you are saying is, that the roots of the GCs goes back to Greece, just because they speak Greek, and since the GCs (Greeks) were in Cyprus long before the TCs (Turks/Ottomans/Mongolians) arrived, then wouldn't that make Cyprus to be a Greek island.? Think before you open your mouth for God sake.!

Who ever said I was a better TC then the next one. You are the one who is confused, believing that anyone born on Cyprus soil is a Cypriot, TC or a GC. Cypriot citizenships are given to the children of Cypriots and not to anyone who is born on Cyprus soil, is the reason why many of the children born to the settlers and other foreigners, may they be in Cyprus legally or illegally do not obtain Cypriot citizenship automatically, and neither does the illegal entity like the "trnc" can make foreigners in Cyprus, Cypriots. Had the AP passed in 2004, all of the Turks in Turkey would have been eligible for legal Cypriot and EU citizenships through the north's "Turkish State". In fact, the whole world would have been eligible for Cypriot/ EU Citizenship on the "Black Market", issued to them in the north state.

My view are the one of a Cypriot, regardless of ethnicity. More the merrier, specially those who support Democracy, Human Rights, International Laws and the EU Principles. It is you who thinks you are insulting me by calling me a GC, since it's the only way you can take comfort as to why I don't support your Racist and Fascistic views as a TC. It is your views who are the views of a foreigner and not as a Cypriot. The fact that you were born in the UK and spent your first 30 years there, clearly gives you the non Cypriot views, but the views of the illegal settlers, carpetbaggers, illegal and immoral activities regarding selling of stolen GCs properties and the views of the occupying country of Turkey.

Good, then I hope you don't mind me reminding you that your roots are Mongolia. If you felt like your roots were Turkey, then you should have moved there since there are more Turks in Turkey than there are in the UK and Cyprus. At the same time, there are more TCs in the UK than there are in Cyprus, so if you wanted to be a TC and be with your own people, you should have stayed in the UK. Lets face it, you ONLY came to the illegal "trnc" to enjoys the "spoils of war" in 1993 after the dust had settled, like a scavenger really, so lets not pretend that you came Cyprus to be with your own people.

You can claim to be anything you want.Unless you act it, you can never be what you claim to be, like being a Cypriot. Cypriot citizenship can ONLY be issued as an extension of the RoC, therefore, the "trnc" cannot make anyone a TC , hence the reason as to why the children of all the illegal settlers cannot have Cypriot and EU citizenship if they do not have at least one parent who is a Cypriot, and even then with certain rules applying to them. You can pretend to have the settlers as "new TCs" and like pretending to have the "trnc" as a country, but in reality, you do not have these things, since all these things needs to abide by certain Rule of Law domestically in Cyprus and Internationally, or else people will just ignore you, which is what the world is doing, and unless you change course to comply with the Rule of Law, the world won't change course either, unless you do first. I can come and go to my country of Cyprus anytime I want. Where I choose to go and not go in Cyprus is my choice, end off.

You can ONLY be a Turkish Cypriot given to you as an extension of the RoC's Rules and Laws and not the "trnc", since even the name of the "trnc" suggest it is a "Turkish Republic" and not "Turkish Cypriot Republic", not that it would chance anything. If that wasn't the case, everyone with the "trnc citizenship" would be a Cypriot and a EU citizens also. Well, vast majority are not and that's a FACT.

If you are a Turkish Cypriot, then the RoC is your country, whether you like it or not, as long as you do not abdicate your Cypriot citizenship. The fact that the "trnc" is on RoC's territory, you are already living in the RoC, just without it's laws due to the occupation of Turkey in that part of the RoC...FACT. Throwing hissy fits as you tend to do every time when you do not want to hear the truth is not going to change the FACTS.

CASE CLOSED !

What a superb post Kikapu. Congrats! Not for just explaining to VP the concept of Cypriotism, but because it applies equally to confused GCs as well.
Bravo!
