Turning off GPRS

Postby Svetlana » Thu Apr 21, 2011 10:16 am

My phone regularly turns on GPRS when I dont want it. I have turned it off on the phone but that does not cure the problem.

Can I ask CYTA to turn off GPRS availability?

What phone do you have, are we mind readers? Go to settings and turn off 3G/mobile data etc (this is what you do for the Iphone).

Do you have any Internet apps on your phone?

It is an HTC HD2, there are many internet widgets on the 'phone but I do not use them, except undet wifi. I have turned off GPRS on the Settings but it sometimes overrides this at random, so are CYTA able to disable this service for my number?

OK, another question; I am told a 'stamp' is required on a Rental Contract; what kind of stamp is that?

...and another one: how do you renew a Provisional Driving Licence, do you have to redo the 'Signs' test again?

Thanks in advance...

Apart from the phone question, the others should be asked on your local forum! They can also tell you where to buy a light bulb, a mop, or almost any other mundane thing you can think of.

Here is how to do with your phone, didn't you ask this question again in the past?

You are not supposed to renew a Provisional Driving License, but "upgrade" it to a full License. You don't have to do the signs again, but you have to do a driving test (you drive with somebody next you) and they might also ask some theoretical questions.

Thanks for the replies; I had previously disbaled the feature under Settings: Comms Manager, but have now done it as described, thanks once again.

BTW CBBC this is my 'Local Forum'! It is just that people come to me with their questions and I try to help them.

The stamps are available from any court house. Just go to the information desk and ask. They will probably have it there. The value of the stamp should be a certain percentage of the contract value but don't know exactly. BTW in Greek it is called 'Khartosimo'.
