Cyprus has never applied to enter NATO, and the current Government doesn't want to.

Gr.Cy. Administration will never sit at the NATO table. It is unrecognized piece of territory. 8)

Who ever listens to Davutoglu anyway. The Americans think he is a "clueless idiot". He just plays to his own tune and only he hears what he says. It's like someone hearing voices in their own head, poor fella.

That makes it even worse, that the whole world recognises the "GC administration" despite Davutoglu screaming Bloody Mary of the RoC should not be recognised or be in the EU. Talk about a slap on the face for him.

NATO has it's drawbacks at times, as Turkey recently found out, that they have been dragged into the Libyan conflict by their ears screaming more Bloody Mary. Turkey is now going against her business investments in Libya as a NATO member, whether she likes it or not.

Let me give Davutoglu one piece of free advice if he is serious about the EU.

"Be careful on whose toes you may step on today, because, they may belong to the ones ass you may want to kiss tomorrow".

Davutoglu retorted that the only reason Cyprus got into the EU was because Greece had “blackmailed” the EU, threatening to veto accession for the central and eastern European countries if the island was not accepted.

I wouldn't call it blackmail but shrewd dimplomacy.THis may have been turkeys greatest dilpomatic defeat in the last 50 years Cyprus entry into the EU.

Hey GR, not bad for a bunch of balkan gypsies.
