The GCs have their allegiance with the RoC. Not so with the TCs.

The majority of Cypriots, have a predominately Hellenic Culture and Inheritance as well as a unique Cypriot Culture. This is how we have been for thousands of years.

A Cypriot National who considers himself of Greek/Hellenic ancestry/ethnicity, still has allegiance to the RoC as Cypriot Nationals.

Cypriot defines the nationality. Greek, in our case, defines the ethnos. Two seperate things altegether.

A Greek in Greece defines the nationality and Ethnos, as Cypriots are not Greek Nationals.

The difference is that Australians are free to do what they want with their own territory, while in Cyprus we have foreigners imposing on us their will by force. Do you think that if Australians choose to be part of the UK that they would have been forced to be separate? They still choose to have the UK flag embedded in their own flag, and the Queen of England as their own Queen. They can be as close to the UK as they choose. It is this choice we want for our own island. The freedom to take democratic decisions for our own lands, without foreign intervention.

Cyprus is 800.000 people. To put this into context, our population is the same as a neighborhood of London. We love our neighborhood (Cyprus) but this doesn't mean we do not care about our nation as a whole. The fact is that we are Greek, and the only reason that Cyprus is not part of the Greek state is that foreign imperialists restricted our freedom. Other than that there is absolutely no difference between Cyprus and any other Greek island.

What part of Cyprus' history is NOT greek, exactly? I'm tired of explaining to everyone that we were colonised by Myceneans, under Alexander and Ptolemy, in Byzantium for a thousand years, took part in the 1821 Revolution, fought in Second World War on the Greek side....
