The problem is not our ethnicity. That is just the excuse. If it wasn't for the ethnicity it would have been the religious and/or linguistic differences. There are plenty of excuses for division.

A solution does not require the change of the ethnicity, religion or language of any Cypriot. A solution requires a democratic system that will respect these differences and treat all Cypriot citizens the same, without any racist discriminations.

Unfortunately you and some others fall in the trap of certain foreign Imperialists, who convinced you that our ethnicity is supposedly a problem. These Imperialists do not want a free and independent Cyprus. On the contrary they want to isolate Cyprus from the rest of Hellenism, making it easier for themselves to continue to exploit and abuse our island, serving their own interests on the expense of our.

The same goes for most TCs. I don't consider NOT EVEN ONE OF THE TCs in this forum or in real life out there to be the "disease" of Cyprus, or to be any different than the GCs. If there was love and understanding between the people of Cyprus, and if both the GCs and the TCs were not infected by the disease of Nationalism, Cyprus would be a paradise today.
The real disease of Nationalism brought catastrophy to the Cypriots that did not end by 1963,1974 it still continues. Whereas the GCs were lucky enough to escape Enosis with (what is today a Bankrupt state), the TCs were not so lucky and are still in the trap the straggling web of the spider called Turkey.

This is our problem today in other words how to re-unify our country and get the TCs out of the web without us (the GCs getting trapped into it as well).

quattro, I AM Cypriot, but being Cypriot does not mean I can't identify, as do the majority, with my old roots. I can be Hellenic and Cypriot thank you, and that is NOT damaging to Cyprus at all. What is damaging is having this childish debate about our sense of identity and inheritance. Clearly, GCs have a strong bond with Hellenism. These GCs are not nationalists, or traitors to Cyprus. It does not mean they supported the Junta, or that they what to destroy the TC community and eat their babies!

This is what I believe, Most Cypriots would have their Gunfire breakfast. Few don't know the meaning of a selfless act let alone the maximum sacrifice.

BTW, a Gunfire breakfast is an Australian tradition. It is what the ANZACs would have before dawn, before fighting would break out with the Turks. It is what an Australian Digger would have before charging the Turkish Trench with Bayonet to concentrate the Turks at one point so other units can outflank them. For most, it was their last meal!

On April 25, the entire ADF will have its Gunfire Breakfast. If someone wants to invade Australia, then they should do it at 1600 on the 25 Apr as this is when the entire ADF is at its most vulnerable, as the entire ADF will not be at its most battle ready state!

The next day, they will get their butts kicked to kingdom come. No negotiations with an invader period!

I don't consider NOT EVEN ONE OF THE TCs in this forum or in real life out there to be the "disease" of Cyprus, or to be any different than the GCs. If there was love and understanding between the people of Cyprus, and if both the GCs and the TCs were not infected by the disease of Nationalism, Cyprus would be a paradise today.
The real disease of Nationalism brought catastrophy to the Cypriots that did not end by 1963,1974 it still continues. Whereas the GCs were lucky enough to escape Enosis with (what is today a Bankrupt state), the TCs were not so lucky and are still in the trap the straggling web of the spider called Turkey.

This is our problem today in other words how to re-unify our country and get the TCs out of the web without us (the GCs getting trapped into it as well).

Together we can, but this means ALL TOGETHER.

Sure, there are many good TCs out there. But the majority will screw you and your family without any hesitation. There is no compromise from their side. There is no problem holding beleifs for anything my friend, the problem starts when one imposes those beleifs on the majority just because he is in power.. I agree with you that at this point those who rule among the TCs are those who aim at Turkification of the occupied. At some point in time though those who ruled among the GCs were the EXACT equivalent of those. See the parallelism?

Like I said previously such people are expected to ALWAYS exist, and we must learn to tolerate them. The problem starts when they get the power in their hands, and make it look as if the majority are like them. That is what happens now at the occupied.

I am willing to tolerate them when they start behaving like Cypriots. I have no issue with them when this occurs. They too are free to have their beliefs as EQUAL citizens.

The current "administration" with Eroglu is exactly that. The previous one with Talat was struggling within the limits of the Turkish "web".
