They could go on meeting for another 20 years and still not find a solution.

What do you want a solution for?

BBF with political equality of the 2 states.

What do you want?

dunno about hermy, but i want u to define:

• bi-communal
• bi-zonal
• federation
• political
• equality
• state

'cos i bet u a pair of ridiculously small bollox, no one in the civilised world will agree with any of ur definitions.

Viewpoint's definition of "BBF with political equality of the 2 states" is "we get to keep everything we have and you also give us half of what you have."

How would that work exactly can you clarify it?

where's ur definitions then? that'll clarify everything.

The beard of Mohammed has turned up in a park in northern Cyprus. What does this mean?

Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika (15.04.11) reports that celebrations named as "The Holy Birth Week" started yesterday in the occupied areas of Cyprus on the occasion of the anniversary of the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. The celebrations, which are organized by the "Religious Affairs Department" and the Religious Consultancy of the "embassy" of Turkey in the occupied part of Lefkosia, will last until 20 April.

The paper writes that within the framework of the celebrations, the beard of the Prophet is exhibited in a small jar in a park in occupied Lefkosia. The paper recalls that the beard was kept at Topkapi Sarayi Museum in Istanbul and wonders how it was brought to the occupied areas of Cyprus.

Afrika writes that the "Holy Birth Week" is celebrated in the occupied areas of Cyprus only during the past few years.

The paper expresses the following view: "After the Justice and Development Party (AKP) came to power in Turkey, new customs came up here: 'The Holy Birth Week'. There was no such a thing in the past. However, this place was not Turkey in the past".

I didn't ask for your preferred solution. I asked what do you want a solution for? For what reason do you want to see the island united? What is it that a solution will give you that you can't have now? I'm just curious as you seem very frustrated at the slow progress of the talks.

Although I do not believe there will ever be a solution both sides are just stupid as each other, so its not really frustration at slow progress but more a waste of time. In response to your question I want a solution in order to bring to a close this outstanding between the two communities, to allow both sides closure and to move on with their future.

Same question goes to you, why do you want a solution?

Vp the solution will be a true federated Republic, with the majority Greeks and the minority Turks..living with protection of civil and human rights, anything less will not work!!!!! then all cypriots can have closure if not this problem will drag on to future generations with more wars and killings..

What ever you call it we will not be forced into accepting a deal that places us in a minority status.

You don’t have to worry about a raw deal… there’ll never be one anyway!
