Without external influences I am sure Christofias and Denktash/Eroglu would also have enjoyed the coffee too.

3 years and the result? zilch.

They could go on meeting for another 20 years and still not find a solution.

I didn't ask for your preferred solution. I asked what do you want a solution for? For what reason do you want to see the island united? What is it that a solution will give you that you can't have now? I'm just curious as you seem very frustrated at the slow progress of the talks.

Although I do not believe there will ever be a solution both sides are just stupid as each other, so its not really frustration at slow progress but more a waste of time. In response to your question I want a solution in order to bring to a close this outstanding between the two communities, to allow both sides closure and to move on with their future.

Same question goes to you, why do you want a solution?

Viewpoint's definition of "BBF with political equality of the 2 states" is "we get to keep everything we have and you also give us half of what you have."

I don't believe the Greek side is as stupid as the Turkish side. Otherwise Turkey wouldn't be clinging to the north of Cyprus when it could be swaggering around the corridors of the EU. And I think it's Turkey's strategy to waste time as they are not ready for the serious compromises needed for a solution that would satisfy the G/Cs.

As to why I want a solution that's easy: to reverse the appalling barbarism of the occupation, to see justice restored and to free the island from the stain of Turkey's presence.
