The Ottoman Remnants’ Master Plan!

The abandoned Ottoman Remnants of Cyprus were longing for Greater Ottomania to come to their rescue and re-impose the Ottoman will, for a very long time and eventually Greater Ottomania did arrive in 1974 so the Ottoman Remnants were jubilant and grateful to Allah for answering their prayers!

Now they had 40,000 Ottoman foot soldiers to authorize the Ottoman Remnant’s will so they proudly proclaimed a “state” ignoring the plight of Byzantia Cypria!

“A state is born!” they shouted, but everyone looked the other way! “Never mind!” they thought to them selves and pressed on with nation building!

But as the years went by the Ottoman Remnants realized that Greater Ottomania wasn’t so great after all; perhaps only in population, for the nation they dreamed of building could never get off the ground so they then decided they only wanted Greater Ottomania for when the going gets tough! The decision was now unanimous…

“We will use the foot soldiers from Greater Ottomania to blackmail Byzantia Cypria into ceding a position of power in their prosperous rump state and then slowly but surely get rid of them with an ever increasing number of foot soldiers and threats!”

“The triumphant Ottoman Remnant kingdom is at hand!” they confidently thought!

So first they would coerce a super deal from Byzantia Cypria while Greater Ottomania would guarantee their newfound authority, and then slowly but surely push out the undesirable Byzantia Cypria with accusations that Byzantia Cypria have not met their agreements, and thus eventually rule the whole island! The Ottoman Remnant’s kingdom would be guaranteed!

But the Ottoman Remnants’ master plan had one minor flaw… too many years had gone by and by now Greater Ottomania no longer only wanted to play foot soldier!

Ottomania - I've heard of this disease. It appears to afflict those with a distorted sense of their own intellect. It takes over their reason and turns them into deluded morons with ideas way beyond their station. I fear it's on the rise. It apparently spread into Anatolia where it arrived with Mongolian camels. There are rumours that the Turkish Foreign Minister is a sufferer.
