And the Maltese do not have kurupettoi for citizens. Also, the Turks didn't find them (Malta yok) and another thing:

They did not have a Grivas and a Makarios to ... save them from the yolk of British imperialism.

I will explain. It is the old business of tit for tat. Kurupetos called his President "circus clown" and this might just get Piratis enraged for he has this idea that it is a treason to insult or even disagree with the demogratically elected President. Personally I do not subscribe to this line of thought, but here you are ... he started it!
