Firstly a step has been taken, Turkey has been told that, unless it normalises its relations with all EU States including the State of Cyprus the chapters pertinent to membership have been suspended.

Why do you think the organisers of the ongoing demonstrations in the north call them marches for the "societal existence" of the T/Cs? The truth is, the Turkish invasion and occupation has decimated the T/Cs as a distinct community on the island. Replacing them with Kurds and Anatolian Turks has not renewed the T/Cs. It has merely swamped and overwhelmed them.

Let's face it, the only hope for the remaining T/Cs is in a united federal Cyprus under the EU. Anything else will result in annihilation. It is a weird twist that it is Turkey which may end up wiping out the T/Cs. Whereas under the ROC, the T/Cs would in all likelihood now be a flourishing community with equal rights under the EU. Such are the poor choices made by the T/Cs and their treacherous leaders.

You can thank us for saving you from becoming part of Greece and having your own recognized country without the TCs. If returning to your roots was good enough for you people back then, then why isnt it good enough for us..we are Turkish in origin after all.
