How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

At only 5%, and look what a stir they've already created.
One only has to look at the teachings of this 'religion' to begin to understand.

At only 5% (and comprising some of the poorest sections of society) this suggests that the other 95% are incredibly stupid and incompetent. Is that what you're saying ? If the teachings are so bad why can't this 95% see through it as well.

I assume in that number you include the Turkish Settlers brought to Cyprus by Turkey with the intent to change the demographics on our island. What Turkey has commited is a crime, and she is responsible to repatriate her own citizens in a way that will respect the rights of the native Cypriot people, without harming the Settlers (who are also the victims of Turkish expansionism).

I didn't assume anything. I just reported the numbers in the Pew report.

English language classes in UK - often taken up most heavily by recent immigrants - have been cut to almost zero by the current coalition government. Sociologists looking at immigrant integration in Britain have found virtually no examples of immigrants who did not want to integrate into British life, including learning English. Cameron, parroting the racist BNP, and others last week accused immigrants of failing to integrate into Britain but when they clearly want to do so he and his cronies actively prevent them from doing so. And then he blames immigration and immigrants. Hypocritical twat.

Something similar goes on in many countries, Cyprus included. (Except of course British immigrants to Cyprus who refuse to learn Greek (or Turkish) : no assimilation there. Double standards)

I agree that host countries should do more to help the immigrants to assimilate. If the immigrant population is small compared to the native population of the country it shouldn't be hard at all to assimilate most of these people with the right kind of policies.

is the cypriot government doing enough to 'encourage' british immigrants to assimilate do u think? those brits who refuse to learn the local language and custom really ought to be brought to task in some way.

their uncivilised and uncooth foreign ways - drinking to excess, drinking bitter, fawlty towers re-runs, obsession with premiership football, sausages and burgers on bbqs, jacket potatoes, elvis impersonators, over-reliance on sun cream, egg and watercress sandwiches, loyalty to the monarchy, embarrassing lapdoggery towards america, mustard, white socks and sandals - really ought to be curtailed in some way.

The how religious these people are is again directly related to the fact that they are poor and mostly uneducated. That is again not their fault.

At the same time I recognize that certain aspects of some cultures might not be very compatible with each other and that if you choose to immigrate to another country you should make an effort to fit in the host country rather than expecting the host country to change to fit you.

The solution to this is for the powerful western countries to stop exploiting the poor ones, but on the contrary to help them develop. This way people will be able to have a decent life in their own countries and they will not be forced to immigrate.

Here is an interesting video:

Ok there it is, I knew you would not let me down. let me flip this for you, and talk about empathy like the person in the video that you posted did.... is that ok?

you see the people that came from turkey as coming to cyprus to change the demographics>>>>> no?

well there is another way to see them >>>>> your video talked about putting yourself into the others shoes, so.......

TCs because of the isolation, and the only recognised government of the ROC and before this a lot lot lot worse have been imigrating when they could since the 50's increased in the 60s obviously and after 74 with the isolation etc.... this is not particularly fair i dont feel do you?

GCs talk about settlers.... and this is a question so dont jump on me.... but how many turkish nationals were forced to move to Cyprus and how many choose to just as potiac greek chose to move to the ROC?
