sure, but hottel thought the matter significant enough to send an official memo to the director of the fbi (suggesting also that the fbi took this stuff seriously in general). note also the source of the information was reported to be 'an investigator of the air force' (with a job and a reputation to maintain) and not some random civilian, who may have lacked credibility.
The USA was UFO Crazy in the 1950's: (now its just Crazy): Personally I'd prefer to see a contemporaneos official report by the investigator, of reasonably verifiable provenence, not a a third hand unverified report written three years or so after the event.
