How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This would only happen if talks breakdown, surely after all this talking we cannot think for one minute that we can find a solution. Going our own separate ways means we will do what we wish and reopen Maraş.

What did he say? Am not up with it. Work, home renovation and a slight cold have kept me away from the latest news.

cheers

He said that there is no timetable in the ongoing talks. Just like Pres. Christofias has said all along.

DTA IM NOT cypriot but Greek as in greece,as for if t/c are CYPRIOTS AS MUCH as the g/c i think they are deep down but past events have caused those feelings to be subdude, however as we see with the protest they are starting to come out and if t/c start to really look out for themseles there community and there island as a whole then ofcourse they should be considered cypriot but again they must eventually put the the island of cyprus first and then turkey after as i think most g/c have done with greece.

So now that little fantasy is over, have you got a more constructive suggestion that would end the obscenity and indignity of having Turkish troops "protecting" an abandoned town?

It is land won after a war. Not to be given back. Unless you offer something in exchange of course.

Every one knows this is nonesense and that the Turkish Army only grabbed Varosha after the 16th August 1974 ceasefire because they found it abandoned and it was not in their original plans! Why it was abandoned is another very controversial story which there are conflicting views about on the G.C.side but in any case the behaviour of the Turkish Army in the first phase of the war did not exactly inspire confidence among the G.C'S in Varosha about what would have happened to them if they had stayed! If you think this is just one sided, a small number of people who did stay behind, including a couple of harmless old ladies and other unarmed people who tried to return after the ceasefire were arrested and a number were executed by TMT fanatics! There is a mass grave in Ayios Memnon which the missing persons committee cannot get permission to exhume, although they have reports that the remains were removed to another site soon after they were buried?
