Everything we demand does not need derogations.

So we are in agreement that a solution will be based on a BBFederation with political equality of the two states.

Of course but I have put forward a suggestion that the balance in the upper house should not be allowed to swing in favour of either the GCs or TCs.

Im no expert at all, so please point out if I am talking out of my backside but cant an unbreakable constitution take care of the Tc concerns here, so if Gcs get power in the upper house they can not change the constitution? from that which was agreed at the solving of the cyprus problem?

Would the GCs agree to that?

VP if this was the case, how would the Gcs (if they intended to) change things to the detrement of us? short of doing what mak the knife did in '63 which would risk all out civil war with much more Turks and Tcs in the North (a unified zone) the Gcs would surely not risk this even if they hated our guts as much as some on this forum continually display.

Boilio I think there is a fundemental question here though, do you want to live with us as partners or do you just want to have cyprus as a greek cypriot island, would you prefer it if we all moved to Turkey?

Do you think we are as cypriot as you> are the Gcs the true cypriots and the TCs are just the other?

please answer honestly

Let's get back on track?

Has anyone on this site been into Maras recently?I very much doubt it!The Turkish Cypriots have no authority over it or they would not have allowed this ridiculous situation to continue for as long as it has-in fact I know there is a group there in Famagusta who are also calling for it to be returned under U.N. control.
In practical terms it would take the Turkish Army only a few days to pull-out once the order was given, evactuating the Ordu Evler-which is the Sandy beach hotel and a few adjacent buildings which they use and are in good condition(see photos on multiply site). The real problem would then start with clearing the weeds and bushes from the roads in the rest of the closed area, but before even that could be done there needs to be a very careful check by a U.N. demining unit to remove any dangerous unexploded materials left from 1974.Then there would need to be a detailed survey of all the structural damage and repairs needed before anyone could inhabit the place again...not forgetting that meanwhile there would be enormous pressure from former Greek-Cypriot inhabitants wanting to see their properties and salvage any memoranda still left in them before any clearance and demolition could begin......the logistics of all this are enormous and would take months to action. All this is without considering which buildings would be renovated and who would decide, plus of course where all the funding would come from?
I dread to think how all this would be organised, knowing how people here behave!
