Places to propose in Cyprus?

Postby jacob01 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:06 pm

Hey all from a new member.

My girlfriend and I are travelling to Cyprus in May, and i have chosen then to ask her to marry me, ive tried to research the best i can, and seemingly Aphrodite's Rock is a good suggestion, but is there any other places you guys would suggest?

Places with a Stunning sunset?
Romantic restaurants with a great view and nice music?

Anything like that, im open to suggestions.

Cheers

That depends on what you and her like. Aphrodite's Rock is very different setting from a restaurant. The sunsets at Aphrodite's Rock are nice. What hotel are you going to be staying?

Yeh, would go along with Sotos, Aphrodites Rock at sunset, iconic CY landmark.

... or if you want to really push the boat out, do it over coffees in one of the cafes around Paphos Harbour.

Aphrodite's rock is seeming like a contender then, is it far from Nissi Beach?

Any others?

It's a pretty long way, halfway betwee Limassol and Paphos, but it's almost all Highway (motorway).

... but if you're in Agia Napa.... well, you know those inverted bungee jumps, where you start on the ground and are catapulted dozens of feet in to the air? If they do the twin passenger type... pop the question just before you go flying upwards.. guaranteed to work.

Aphrodite's rock is about 2 hours drive from Ayia Napa. Ayia Napa is great for the beach (recently voted as number 1 in Europe at tripadvisor!) and clubbing, but I am not sure if it is very romantic. But if you are staying in Ayia Napa just find some nice place to propose there ... no need to drive 2 hours and then 2 hours back.

Jacob ... take drive to Ayia Marina Xyliatos take a walk up the mountain called Polikatos from up there ou have 180C of Cyprus propose there. Do not cross the green line because that is a Turkish Army zone and an unrecognised statelet. It is EU land but without legal representatiion.

We are staying in nissi beach which I Believe is outside ayia napa, the mountain sounds okay and aphrodites rock sounds superb, but a bit far perhaps, when we were in Thailand there was a a romantic evening cruise that would have been perfect, any thig like that on the eastern side?

well I think you need to read a few more magazines to get an idea. Love has nothing to do with romanticism mate and Cyprus is perhaps the wrong place .
