The term "Greek Cypriot" is just a British plot to DIVIDE & RULE the island of Cyprus.
As you said, Cypriots(ie Greeks of Cyprus) call themselves CYPRIOTS!
Kipraioi + Tourjoi
where Kipraioi = Greeks, Armenians, Maronites, Latins
where Tourjoi = Turks from 1571+, Turks 1974+
End of story. Stop complicating the situation even more so that the solution(ie LIBERTY OF CYPRUS) is never reached... Then you wonder why people call the filotourkoi TRAITORS.
So mr klik can you enlighten us a bit what is that factor that can make
Greeks, Armenians, Maronites, Latins... kypreous and not also the Turks us you like to call them back from 1571 and beyond ........
Same language for starters...
Which apparently is Greek...
Because Cyprus has been Greek for a veeeeeeeeeeeeeery long time (I won't say since forever because a) it's not true b) the "parrots" will return and talk crap again)
You go down the street, have a proper conversation with some random person you just met, then you learn that his surname ends in -IAN (hence Armenian roots). Maronites have fully Greek surnames. Latins mostly too.
Then you have the other side, with Turkish names, speak Turkish only(used to be a wrong statement for the majority but now it's like searching for a particular needle in a stack of needles....) and have to communicate in the lingua franca instead of the domestic language, which is Greek...
Unless you are of the kind who believes that a piece of paper defines who and what you are...
