So, a poll were anybody (including many foreigners) can vote about what Cyprus should do. Only a foreigner or traitor would think that foreigners should have a say in what Cypriots should do with their own island.
Obviously the answer to this poll would be "no".
First of all the Cypriots never wanted Cyprus to "cede" to Greece. What they wanted was enosis, which means union with the rest of Greece.
Secondly, there is no point in such union today. The whole point of such union would be to protect Cyprus from foreign Imperialists, in the way that Crete, Rhodes and all other Greek islands and territories are protected by being united and therefore stronger than if each little Greek island and town was left on its own.
Unfortunately the imperialists have managed to isolate Cyprus from the rest of Greece and they have already took large parts of our island under their rule. It is too late to unite with Greece now. We should have acted much earlier, in the time that other Greek islands and territories were achieving enosis and freedom. Now its too late for that.
Now, if the question of the poll was: "Did the Cypriot people have the right to unite their own island with the rest of Greece in the 50s and earlier?" and in this poll only Cypriots were allowed to vote, then the result would have been a resounding "yes".
