This one’s for the hardcore music dudes, like Insan and B-sharp…

1. Famous but shy British female, popular in the 70s and 80s.
2. Her work could be described as bizarre and complex, but always unique and interesting.
3. The song could be summed up with the words “military fantasy”.
4. Her attire was always weird too but had a lovely voice and big black eyes!
5. The UK loved her!

That’s it!

Ok here goes.

1. The song is a tribute to somebody who took their own life.
2. Male singer/ 70's American, folk, folk rock
3. Both singer and deceased are 'artists' from different centuries.

That's it!

PS: the song is very popular, hence the few hints

Reh GR, any chance of one from the zenith of popular music, the late '60s and very early '70s, for some of us older revolutionaries please.
