When did the US ever attack a country that could properly defend itself with the possession of quality contemporary Russian or French air defense systems!

in 82 when syria and israel were fighting for the bekaa valley and assad ordered his air force to counter the israeli f16's i think the tally was Israel 84 to Syria's 0......and syria had all modern migs and air defenses......In 1992 when Iraq just finished off Iran and had Modern Super Etendard jets they kept their distance by flying into Iran to save them......where were the Iraqis and their modern air defenses.
