Greek and Turkish youth remember Cyprus conflict dead

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

With time acts like these - especially when made public - can grow in number and change public opinion. If the status quo cannot be changed now, then it will be changed with the changing views of new generations.

Good post .... great stuff ...... wonder if I would have been allowed to have been there. Now we need the fascist Eroglu to start representing his community rather than Ankara's interests.

I wonder if I get killed en route to Apostolos Andreas from Limnitis when I do my bike ride along the green line with my small banner "Riding for Peace and Unity for Cyprus".

Thank you halil, thank you Zoc, thank you all those fantastic teenagers that have shown how much more sense and compasion they have. We can be optimistic for the future of this country when we see actions like this.

Bananiot ......... Eroglu has made it clear. He is representing a minute number of partitionist TC's and Ankara. These kids can try all they like but nothing will change until that generation of Eroglu goes and unfortunately that will include us younger people.

The goodwill is there but it will not change a thing. Its been 8 years since the borders were opened and we are even further away from a solution than we were when is was closed. So the claim that interaction between the two sides will force a solution was wrong.

I have to disagree with you VP. You're thinking too short term. Interaction between the two sides may not force a solution instantly, but time heals all wounds, and every generation has a new view. With borders open and acts like these happening, it makes the process more feasible and the other side more difficult to demonise.

Its been 51 years that we have been living together yet nothing has changed neither side trusts the other to unite.
