A Proclamation

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

2. Papeon Patron Germanos had nothing to do with it. The church opposed it.
3. Nothing happened at Ayia Lavra on March 25 1821. There was nobody there at the time.
4. There never was a "krifon sxoleion" - secret school - run by priests.

Yet, we allow these lies to dictate our miserable existence ...

Whos payroll are you on? Are you one of those NGO's that are mentioned in the Wikileaks?

Speak for yourself.

What bothers me more is that many of you are more interested what happened in greece 400 or 3000 years ago and trying to prove your existence than what was occur in your country (if you consider Cyprus as your country) 40 or 50 years ago, start reading your country's modern history and stop arguing greeks ,romans and trojans we are in the 21st century and what matters is what we are doing now and where we are going . Who was mine or yours ancestor it make no differences today .
And saying that doesn't make me less patriot than you or denying my roots or my ethnicity by any means .
. But i prefer to see forward and not backward as many of you .

What cannot be denied, Bananiot, is the approximate 400 years of Ottoman occupation, the revolution that secured independence, and the fact that the twenty-fifth of March was proclaimed the national holiday commemorating the revolution and celebrating independence. It dictates a miserable existence only if one allows it. For some, it has enhanced their personhood.

Only an idiot could try to downplay the importance of the revolution by saying "It did not start on March 25". As if it is the date that is important.

What is funny is Cyprus' independence day. Not only nothing happened on October 1st, but Cyprus never gained any real independence.
