Building house information

Postby haris_el » Tue Mar 22, 2011 1:31 pm

Hello,

does anyone know about a detail for when building a house.

Do all walls have to be at 1,20m height from your neighbours and roads at all times?
And any higher walls should be 3 meters in the house?

We were told about this, but seeing other houses all around Cyprus it seems that they have much higher walls!

Thanks in advance for help in this!

Legally yes. There are some exceptions, but most of what you see is illegal. You can build a higher wall after your house passes the inspection. If you agree with a neighbor to build a higher wall between you nobody will ever tell you anything.

OK thanks for hte answer... :)

Yes i know that many people put walls as up to 3 meters, of course agreed with neighbours...

But for increasing the level of the ground, i suppose that is a big NO, as you would have to be 1.2m above the neighbour and no more than that...

I thought the limit was 1.2m above the original soil level?
