Iran: the successful trials of new spacecraft
Yesterday on 17.3.2011, Iran announced that it successfully tested a new space capsule. The next goal will be to send a monkey into space.
The Iran starts slowly a large space program .
On Wednesday, Iranian Presidency announced that " the Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully launched its first Iranian habitable space capsule using rocket Kavoshgar-4 » reported the Agence France Presse (AFP) citing the IRNA.
This gun is also designed to carry cargo.
The Iranian Space Agency said that the transmission of data and images to the earth worked flawlessly.
This launch is below that of 2009 by which the Safir-2 rocket put into orbit a satellite .
In 2010, a spaceship Kavoshgar-3 had boarded a rat and a turtle.
The Tehran says it will soon send a monkey into space on a similar missile.
For the makers of the program is " the first step towards sending a man into space "which is scheduled for 2020.
But Iran does not stop there and looks to put satellites into orbit some observation and telecommunications.
The Kavoshgar-4 rocket will put into orbit satellites into low altitude (150 km), the rocket Safir-B1 will be able to place a satellite weighing 50 kg in orbit 300-450 km altitude, while the Simorgh, will have as a mission to put a satellite in orbit 100 kg to 500 km above the Earth.
If the deadline is met, these devices will be launched within the next 12 months.
A telecommunications satellite is planned, in turn, be placed in orbit 35,000 kilometers above the ground within five years.
Iran's ambitious space program is concerned the Western countries who fear that the country is developing this technology to be able to carry nuclear warheads.
Already in 2009 and 2010, the United States had announced that Iran has proceeded with a " provocation "and the Europeans have expressed" the concern ".
The Tehran denies, saying clearly that the development of nuclear and space programs are not for military purposes.
