EOKA [or EOKA A' to differentiate it from EOKA B'] had the support of the overwhelming majority of the Cypriot people. Even if Cypriots wanted to join with Tartarstan, they should have been allowed to pursue. This is democracy.

tCypriots stood against us and as a result an IDIOTIC 1960 was pushed upon the Cypriots, coerced really, whose provisions tCypriot hypocrisy to-date hangs on. Turkish hypocrisy as well, but we mind the former way more. Turks are irrelevant, just as Greeks are.

No matter how much we all try, the fact remains:
had the tCypriot minority respected the will of the majority in the 50s then none of the bs that ensued would have happened.

You see,DT,this is where you totally fail to understand where I am coming from...Amongst the things I miss in my life out of Cyprus are the sounds of church bells,the sights of those blue and white houses,and the cacophony of Cypriot Greek language and music coming from coffee houses...I am now learning Greek and advising my children to do the same...You are way off the mark here...

Yes I insist that your life is built around lies and deception...You couldnt escape it because you grew up in the RoC...Lies like 'there was no ethnic cleansing of TCs','they left their homes and villages voluntarily to go into enclaves','there was no good reason for the TCs to pull out of government,the lives of the MPs were perfectly safe',and deceptions like
'the Enosis was really a freedom and liberation from colonialism struggle','the Akritas plan was totally justified as the TCs were being given too much power','the RoC represents all Cypriots fairly and equally','the 74 coup was an internal affair and had no implications for the TCs'...The list is long but you might get the gist...or again you might refuse to...

Perfect example of the kind of GC thinking which has brought us to the impasse we are in...You can bully and beat the shit out of someone weaker than you,but when you get slapped hard across the face by the victim's big cousin everything is reversed and all the bully's earlier actions should be denied,ignored,forgiven and forgotten...
