Are you suggesting that Makarios was not working for Enosis between 1950 -67???? He has openly admitted it himself in various interviews,so do some googling and you will find them...I couldn't be bothered any longer!

Makarios was still working toward enosis even to the last. The problem was that while he was trying to squeeze the TCs out economically (a relatively long term plan which was working very well), there were others - Sampson in particular - who felt he had lost sight of the goal, and these conspired with the Greek junta to perform the military coup.

Anyone who studies history with an even hand can see that mistakes were made on all sides. There are too many people on this forum who defend their "own team" fanatically and unfairly accuse the other side of being the only party to blame. This is immature and delusional, and does nothing to help the cause of reunification... or any just solution for that matter.
