I've posted many times on here that my family lived side-by-side with Turks and there was no violence and no hostility towards each other. The Turks withdrew from the government - nobody threw them out. You had proportional representation, i.e. if there were 100,000 GreekCypriots, there were 100 Greek Cypriot MP's; if there 6,000 Turks, there would only be a need for 6 Turk MP's. Why should there be a need for more? You also had high-ranking members in the government, too. You played the martyrs and let Mother Turkey come to your rescue.
Thats the version you have been fed, enosis came before taksim and was in direct response, you forced us out of government by not adhering to the 1960 agreements and even going against a supreme court judgement. You treated us like shit and burned our houses down, people started disappearing and we lived in fear thats why we were forced into enclaves. We had to turn to someone for help as you were much larger and stronger than us, we fought for survival the best way we could.
But why the UN Secretary General disagrees with you and says that following the Dec 63 - Dec 64 ethno-communal violence which was to a large extend provoked by Turkey/TMT you have ONLY YOURSELVES TO BLAME?
