Go back and read my post carefully...I was asking you specific questions, and making specific comments about Turkish elections...If you can't argue my points, just butt out...Let people with more sense and intelligence have a say...

Yes there is a definite change in Erdogan's and other AKP figures rhetoric towards the EU lately...They are raising their voices more and more against EU's procastrination policies...It is ,as I said, for domestic consumption...They are trying to appear tough towards the EU...They figure it will win them votes...Nothing for you to get excited about...

The GC contributors on this forum seem to get off on the doom and gloom storied they generate about Turkeys downfall, the really dumb thing is they think they are right, how long do you need to confirm your ignorance and stupidity that what you think will happen is just a load of rubbish.

both stories linked to in this thread were generated by the turkish press.

that's a shame. i like a good demo. i like seeing all the hundreds of banners and how the average tc really feels about turkey. i'd been given the wrong impression that u represented the average tc.

The TCs are either irrelevant and all the decisions are taken by Turkey OR the TCs have the power to influence Turkish policy...You can't say one thing in one thread and another in another...

May I remind you that there is a general election in Turkey on 12 June 2011,and all these statements are for internal consumption...The AKP and Erdogan are desperate to increase their votes, and I wouldn't be surprised if they start pouring the pressure on the EU...What they will be doing after the elections is another matter!

thats funny where exactly is your question?...delusions of grandeur if you actually think the tcs count in all this...

and if the akp is trying to win more votes why would they then introduce an austerity package at this time?...is it because they want to project the tcs as freeloaders by calling them parasites to the turkish voter?...

but never the less you have won a banana for chest beating...

this is how the game is gonna be played out birturk...turkey will have to make a move on everything concerning the eu...especially on cyprus...they need to do something after the elections...this is gonna happen at the 11th hr...coz comes next year the roc will take the helm of the eu...well you figure it out what would that mean to turkey...

ofcource turkey reserves the right to walk away and become the laughing stock of the eu as the only nation than couldn't make it...

but highly unlikely as turkey wants to become a world player by rubbing shoulders with the big boys within the eu...
