The National Guard of Cyprus… (before and after)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yeah, very impressive.

I guess the main advantage this weapon has against jets is, that they are mobile and can hide easily from the jets detection, as long as the weapons radar system is not turned on until the last second before firing after getting a radar lock on it's intended target.

This is the reason the s300 were not allowed in cyprus, they could get a kill at 45000 ft.

This aint 74 where you could see the damn things driopping bombs and uncle andreas could shoot at them with his Martin rifle

Even the S300/400s are sitting ducks if the radar is activated from HARM Air to Ground missiles launched from over 100 mms away. These missiles will hit their target if the radar is in use, and even when it is subsequently turned off. Once the target is acquired, then the S300/400 will need to be moved to survive.

The S300 radar can also be jammed with ECM, by transmitting erroneous signals within it's operating bandwidth!

Gentlemen, you do realize we're talking about a hypothetical war between a floating rock in the Med and a golliath terrorist regime possessing the latest AMERICAN weapons.
The only way we'd stand a chance of victory is:

A. Allied support in the region. Greece, Israel
B. Politically unhindered military purchases. Fighter planes, long range missiles(S300) for example, navy craft etc, because quite literally, they wont LET us match them in firepower.

they wouldnt let us get any sam missiles back in 71, they stopped the shipment in egypt, anything out of us surplus that cyprus bought for example anti aircraft artillery the barrel would be cut so as not to be able to shoot above 5000 ft..... so basically everything cyprus has in its arsenal is more or less useless today against an american equiped army navy airforce

Another idiot talking rubbish! The ONLY thing a plane can do from 30k feet is DROP bombs… and not any kind of bombs due to the wind blowing them way off course!

To use accurate missiles and rockets, a fighter jet MUST descend to very vulnerable altitudes.

ok you ding bat, the f16 is capable of dropping cluster bombs from that altitude where each cluster bomb has 32 programable bomblets that cruise to their destined target.....

Look, I'm not going to tell you anything on an open forum.

I hope you’re not assuming that doing the postal service from Adelaide to Northern Territory in a Cessna-like balsa plane, constitutes “DEFENCE”!

Whatever the case may be, the truth is out there.

I don't think I am obligated to tell anyone on this forum anything about my identity, who I worked for in the past and who I work for now and what my profession is. It is not worth it, and there is a lot of potential for trouble. In the meantime, you are free to believe whatever you like. I will not be losing any sleep over it that's for sure!

The only people here that know my personal details are those that have met me face to face. If you want, then you too can have a few beers with me and simultaneously find out whatever it is you want to know.

The last time I went to Cyprus I didn't go out of my way to meet anyone because I didn't think it was important and just didn't have any time to spare.
