We have often carped on about embargoes, but Turkey has also been responsible for the same. Apparently Turkey would not buy Cypriot oranges but relentlessly exported enough to the north. There have been other instances like this but they are only a drop in the ocean. Turkey wished to have this stranglehold over the TC economy and no one can stop them.
Apparently there have been demo's in Istanbul too, in support of the TCs actions. They were allowed to carry banners stating 'Turkey, (get lost) get out of Cyprus'. but the same wre not allowed in Cyprus. Double standards all the way through.

The above sign is what you are talking about, Deniz.
Actually, Turkey exports over $1 Billion USD worth of goods to the north and the north exports about $35 million USD worth of goods to Turkey. On average, that's about 50 cents per person (half Dollar) in Turkey buying goods from the north. So yes, in effect, Turkey does put an embargo on the north with their exports.
