BC pres x is talking unification for all cypriots while errorglue is talking about gaining on the spoils and still talking tmt...i think this is the biggest signal of them all...

end of the day it's quite evident turkey wants EU...they realise and they want to be up there with the big boys...there is no gain wasting their time in cyprus...they will have a big say about the whole of the EU if they join, why waste thir time with tiny cyprus?...

i reckon this year there will be developments...surely before cyprus takes the EU helm...

Well, what do you think of the ICG's suggestions, boomers?

Do you think it is worth trying to move things along now? or do you prefer to wait until the EU pressure makes Turkey turn around and run for cover???

It's all been tried before... step by step, often from a road plan drawn up bu outside bodies, who really don't understand the CY way of thinking... we used to call it "confidence building".

Now Bir a question for you ... if you were to ask any CY of The Free Areas what would be top of their list for a settlement ... what d'you think that would be????

Reh Bir... bou ebeeyes???

Linking property and territory and Varosi... a way forward.

This is what Stephanou is reported as saying in the CY Weekly today...

“Linking the issues of property, territorial adjustment and (Turkish) settlers will create the conditions to push forward the negotiation process”, said Stephanou, noting that the SG adopts this position, which is also the position of the Greek Cypriot side.

He also pointed out that acceptance by the Turkish side of the balanced proposal of the Greek Cypriot side on the Turkish occupied city and port of Famagusta will also give a great impetus and momentum to the negotiations.

President Demetris Christofias has proposed the opening of the port of Famagusta, to be managed jointly by Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, under EU auspices.
