Bananiot, GR seems to have changed his ambition...He now wants to attack and occupy Crete instead... :)

There were plenty RoC flags Humanist. But I did see some undercover police and uniformed one say they were not allowed and struggled with some of the demonstrators to remove them, but there were many.

Then an even stronger meaasge to the current ruling government and in addition to raise the moral of the TC;s who since the referendum have been increasingly feeling depressed. Many parties on the left have been meeting with EU parties over the past few years along with Cristofias speaking in great detail and honesty. THE IDEA THAT WE IN THE NORTH ARE ASKING FOR THE SOUTH AND THE WORLD TO COME TO OUR RESCUE IS BOTH ABSURD AND INSULTING TO MANY PEACE ASPIRING TC.S. what many are asking is new thinking on the issue. Today there were many mixed messages such as, re-unification, lift the embargoes, out with imperialsim, self governance and importantly, we as Cypriots should run this country but we wont allow external powers to create tensions amongst TURKS and TC,s, that would be a nightmare. BUT ANOTHER ABSURDITY IS WHEN I HEAR MANY OF MY COMRADES IN THE SOUTH WHO ARE STILL LOOKING FOR AN IDEAL SOLUTION, THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AND AS TIME GOES ON IT WILL BECOME HARDER AND HARDER TO ACHIEVE, IF THE ROC RULING ELITES REALLY WANT A SOLUTION THEN THEY TOO HAVE TO MOBILIZE OR PERSUADE THIER SUPPORTERS. Are you telling me that it would take the death of SOME TC's too get fellow Cypriots in the South to give a damn? That to me seems like the same kind of phycology that got us into this mess in the first place.

You need to get specific. What do you want from gCypriots? Speaking for myself, I see no reason to get excited about tCypriot woes unless they explicitly convey a message to me which I can understand. I will not risk the status quo for some vague need for a solution. Define for me the principles to govern the solution. If these principles involve a 1960 "equality" or Annan-like human rights violations then clearly I have no sympathy for the tCypriot plight. I believe this represents at minimum over 60% of gCypriots.

The Jasmin Movement (Yasemin Harekati) led by Sener Levent and his AFRIKA team, had plenty of Cyprus flags, and some banners deemed offensive to Turkey, but they were stopped and forcibly relieved of the flags and the banners by the riot police...before they entered the Square.

Agreed... there were scuffles between flag (RoC) carrying protestors and Uniformed Thugs in the Pay Of The Turkish Army as shown in the vid posted by grokked.
