Dogs in Cyprus

Postby merrytraveller » Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:13 am

When I take my dog (was a stray) for a walk everyday, on this "island of love" I see plenty of sad, miserable dogs who have been kicked out to fend for themselves. The lucky ones are chained up outside in all weathers to live their lonely meaningless lives without any comfort or affection. Why not adopt one of those?

Did you hear about the ones in the UK thrown in dumpsters so they can explore garbology? That's what I admire about Brits... they always find interesting things for dogs to do! 8)

Try a labrador - we have one (aged 6) which is excellent with my girls (now 4yr ten month): one of the girls will quite happily put her arm or hand in his mouth and wresstle with him: she has been nipped once after she went a bit far / got a wee bit too boisterous for him.

What I find so consistently pathetic about certain responses on this forum is that every criticism (however well intentioned) is met with the childish comment "Look at what the Brits are doing." Could Cyprus excuse torture of its people because other countries are doing it? - Grow up!
