Problem #2: Turkey’s EU accession termination.

Although I suspect she WILL be offered some kind of consolation like “privileged status”, unfortunately Erdogan has already trashed such an offer in the face of his people many times over so the masses are NOT going to be happy at the end of the laborious EU game.

All things “EU” (info offices, liaison offices, etc) will commence closing shop and pulling out of Turkey so expect a dark cloud to come over Istanbul when it finally hits home.

Problem #3: The fallout with Israel and loss of Egyptian alliance (via the US due to unexpected Egyptian regime change)

Turkey is now back to being all alone in the region and to make matters worse, the US’s (the power that constantly lifts Turkey) power and influence has significantly waned.

Problem #4: The frenzy for natural resources in the Med.

It seems that every other neighboring country has struck gold in the eastern Med except for Turkey …and those who successfully exploit it will automatically enjoy an upgraded status in the region at the expense of those who don’t or don’t find any.

Problem #5: Trouble in the puppet state.

With the EU accession dying and elements of Turkey’s puppet state disgruntled, it’s an additional headache for Turkey that is bound to have its repercussions.
