how very unsurprisng, a sensible thread dragged down into the gutter at the 4th post by the Forum's own pet plonker -

I ve got no pretence at intellectualism in my choice of reading matter, which is normally fiction. Over the past few weeks I have read several books by Robert Ludlum, or rather so it seems to me one book that is rehashed - lone man against a big business conglomerate seeking to dominate the world, later aided and abetted by a stunningly attractive and highly intelligent lady. They get boring after a while.

I have also read a good selection of the early books in the "Oxford Reading Tree" to my daughters, though one of them has now read most of them for herself and has just about finished all of the levels( including those aimed at 8year olds) while not yet 5-

PS - I have discovered a problem with E-readers - If you a reading on the Bog (as I freely admit I do - yes I know you did not want to know that) in that situation of extremis one has no source of paper for a necassary function that a traditional book can provide.....

Pretending you can read when you can’t even spell is bad enough! Image
