Hi
I am calling to ask if anyone has been encountering the same problems that I have in trying to set up a WiFi internet radio.
Having followed the instructions in the accompanying manual, I reached a certain point beyond which I could not proceed, because the network to which I was trying to connect is using one of the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) or WiFi Protected Access (WPA) encryption systems. As I do not have the correct WEP/WPA key to enable me to proceed further, I contacted Cytanet (i.e. the provider of my router) and asked them to provide me with this, but they insisted I had to contact the manufacturer of my router.
This I did (my router is an ECI B-Focus Multiport 342+), but despite using the IP address quoted in the manual (10.0.0.138), I was unable to establish any kind of connection. I’ve also accessed several techie/forum sites via Google & used many of the IP addresses suggested within, but with still no joy.
Now I’ve come across a useful link which might assist me in my problem (http://ioannis.mpsounds.net/blog/2006/0 ... on-manual/), but as it is of a rather technical nature, I thought I could see if I could obtain help of a less specialised nature elsewhere before following the instructions within. Is there anyone who has purchased an internet radio, who’s encountered the problems I have, but who has still succeeded in establishing connectivity? If so, I would be very grateful for your assistance.
Alternatively – should I just take my query to a specialist computer engineer, or could anyone recommend any local company or web resources which may help me resolve this problem?
I just hope that the money I’ve spent on my shiny new internet radio isn’t money down the drain! I find it hard to believe that it won’t work solely for want of something which really shouldn’t be too difficult to find, or am I just being naïve?
Many thanks in anticipation.
