Merkel is simply playing politics...Since when do you take any active politician's word for gospel???? Merkel is using the Cyprus situation to exclude Turkey from the EU...But you ought to know that once the EU door is closed Turkey would have no motivation to get out of Cyprus...

You cannot excuse the T/Cs and their leadership so lightly from their own disastrous alignment with forces intent on dividing the island. First by collaborating with the British and then for waging a separatist guerrilla war against the majority population, then supporting the invasion and occupation.

It's about time you stopped seeing T/Cs as children unable to make moral choices. You've got to take responsibility for your current predicament if you are going to survive as a community. You cannot take on Turkey unless you realize that you alone have made inept and appalling decisions every step of the way. If you cannot see that the ROC/EU is your only chance then you deserve to become extinct.

Doing nothing is an existential choice. You can choose to fight or you can choose extinction. Extinction is not inevitable. It's a choice. Right now, you, Bir, have chosen extinction. But that is because you think G/Cs have left you no option. Of course you are wrong. The option of living in a united ROC within the EU is still on the table. You just have to turn your backs on Turkey to achieve it. You aren't ready for it, good little Turk that you are. But you'd better hope that not all the remaining T/Cs are as worn out and as disillusioned as you.
