Christofias Vetos Partnership for peace

Postby boulio » Sat Feb 26, 2011 3:26 am

Christofis veotoed today the first time a roc president has used it since 1963 the descions from the house advisor board :

Mr Christofias has caused strong opposition from all parties (except AKEL), including the edek (socialist) Movement. The plenary session of parliament called on President Christofias to proceed immediately to the application, to safeguard the best interests of the Republic on the issue of defense and security.

The decision states that the participation of Cyprus in the Partnership will enhance the prestige of the Republic, the state's standing internationally and widening participation in all the pillars of European Union policies

do you think diko drops the govt over something like this?

first time use of a veto.

Christofias is a total Tosser and with such actions he proves that he is not fit to responsibly Govern the Republic.

Cypriots should take to the streets because Christofias is becomming an International embarrassment who is sending very mixed 'Cold War' era messages which only show him up for the wanker he truly is.

Naturally, if his IQ was more than 50, he would've realised that Turkey would have vetoed our application, hence making it very unnecessary to send the wrong messages to the NATO, and ANZUS alliances which in the end make him look like the stupid fool he is by letting Turkey off the hook well and truly.

What a total nincompoop!

But what are the pros and the cons of joining this and what implications could arise?

I’m asking because I haven’t bothered to look into this…

He hasn't vetoed it yet, and according to Article 50.1A it doesn't matter if he does. I wonder which way the Attorney General and the Supreme Court will rule on this.

Well, it doesn't look like anyone has researched the pros and cons of joining this yet some saw fit to condemn the veto! :?

I reckon Christofias has not lost hope in joining the Warsaw pact. Too bad it doesn't exist anymore.

But you can’t say American influence is doing much better either…

It’s a time when countries have begun to freely express themselves without Russian or American blackmails.

Well done to Christofias for this. The last thing Cyprus needs is to mix itself with NATO.

If the parties think this is such an important issue, then a referendum should be organized for this.

On the contrary. Christofias' rhetoric is very stupid indeed!
