1. To ESTABLISH a state you need political legitimacy and/or power and influence.

2. To SUSTAIN that state you need a sound economy that stems from a competent workforce.

3. To HANG ONTO that state you need a decent military force and a system that does not rely on others.

So given the TC community has NONE of the above…

Surely it is not out of the ordinary that TCs may have put their trust in the Turks?
Rather than all this, "we told you so", we should be making GC attitude accommodating, sympathetic, without gloating at the troubles of the TCs.
The TCs are damned if they do, and damned if they don't, between a rock and a hard place, the devil and the deep blue sea. Let's make the GC attitude a welcoming one, in the time honoured Cypriot way. We have all acted in regrettable ways when we think we're acting in our own interests.

I appreciate the line you have taken,eracles,but it might be too little too late...You are spot on,the TCs were caught bewteen a ROCk and a Hard Place,and the game is up for them...The RoC has colluded with Turkey in the ethnic cleansing of the TCs,and there are now more real TC in the disapora than in Cyprus...

Those despicable fools who are gloating about the extinction of the TCs have a lot coming to them...Erdogan has given up all pretence that the trnc is independent from Turkey...He has declared to the world that Turkey has strategic interests in Cyprus and he is going to run the trnc like a Turkish state...The bell is not tolling for the TCs any longer...Guess for whom they are tolling???

Who do you think you are?

So for 36 years the TC community was collaborating with Turkey against the RoC and thus bringing about the current situation in the occupied territory of Cyprus, and now all of a sudden the TC community wakes up to the fact that doing so was not in their interests after all and they now want the RoC to help free the TC community from Turkey… but NOT to the point of the RoC taking over her rightful occupied territory herself!

If this is not the mentality of a spoilt, naïve, obscure and hopeless people I don’t know what is!

I must say, Erdogan was right about one thing!

When economic measures r carried into effect, in every country people who r affected by protests the ones who decide for those economic measures... everywhere in the world it's same...

TRNC could be purely independent and the protestors could have protested the TRNC government and it's president in a similar uncivilized manner by holding a banner that insultive phrases written on it for the government in power... the result would've been the same...

Noone has a right to insult anyone, any institution or any country... Some of our TC protestors that represent only about 5% of TCs do not even know how to democratically and civilly protest...

I many times stated that most of the TC politicians(including those who don't even know how to protest democratically and civilly) r incompetent, self-interested illiterate creatures...

These corrupt politicians, leaderships and politicians r almost all descendants of old corrupt TC elite since last 200 years of Ottoman rule; from late 1600s...

There is corruption in governments and societies all around the world but when the level of corruption is high as in the TC community; it brings disunity, injustice, illiteracy, primitivity, greedness etc together with itself...

Turkey too have had a similar corruption in it's governments and society since the decline of Ottoman empire but AKP is the least corrupt government Turkey have had so far...

However there r some brusque politicians among the members of AKP and the most remarkable one is PM Erdogan... He behaves like as if 2 wrongs make 1 right...

...anyway... in fine; it's good to hear everyone speak out their thoughts and feeling though I'd wish they do this civilly...

Yes, it's an old collaboration in continuance but being against Greek rule in Cyprus and being against the RoC r 2 totally different issues as u too know very well...

Yes, it's an old collaboration in continuance but being against Greek rule in Cyprus and being against the RoC r 2 totally different issues as u too know very well...

But the dangers of Greek rule are long gone yet your collaboration (which isn’t really collaboration) is in continuance!
