Ancient Brits were cannibals, scientists discovered. Surprised? Don't be.

TA NEA. Title reads Κανίβαλοι οι αρχαίοι Βρετανοί
Ετρωγαν τους νεκρούς και έφτιαχναν κύπελλα από τα κρανία τους

I copy/paste a few entertaining comments from the CNN blogs...

The bloody Brits did not know about Tea till the formation of east India Company. Prior to that they drank blood of their owns and that is why we call them Bloody Brits.

Everyone already knew this.....is why 1/3 of them are immune to mad cow disease

Would you pour me a head of tea please?

Brings a whole new meaning to 'I was outta my skull last night'

Any relation to Hannibal Lecter?

Funny how many of the world's best restaurants are in the UK!

Still, not as bad as having to eat at a McDonald's.

Blood tea and scones at high noon at Stonehenge. Now we know what they were up to there. Turns out Stonehenge was actually the first drive through burger joint...

Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?

I wonder if they had High Skull time!

Cannibalism was a very common practice in the ancient world.

Some would argue it was probably the Scots feasting on human flesh rather than the Brits (the discovery dates 14K years back).

Others suggested "it was easier to hunt & kill humans rather than wild animals to fend off hunger back then, hence the cannibalism". In other words, humans was fair game, an easier one if I may add...

American blog participants commented rather harsh but surely British sense of humor would not take offence to that, would it?

Until about 150 years or so ago, It was almost (but only almost) acceptable for British sailors adrift at sea to eat the Cabin boy,

(when of course he was no longer fit other purposes .....

..... send up another cabin boy!

This one be Split!
